Livia M. Gladu
1930 - 2013 CHESHIRE Livia M. Gladu, 82, formerly of 11 5th Ave., died Monday, May 1, 2013, at the Springside Rehabilitation and Care Center in Pittsfield.
Born in West Stockbridge on June 28, 1930, daughter of Angelo and Theresa Panzeri Carlotto, she attended schools there, graduating from Stockbridge High School in 1948.
Livia was a homemaker most of her life, moving to Cheshire after her marriage. Livia was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire.
She was a passionate Boston Red Sox fan, loved cross-stitching, reading and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Armand L. Gladu died Jan. 7, 2000.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Beach, and her husband, Stephen, with whom Livia made her home; three sons, Edward Scarafoni of Hancock; Armand Gladu and his wife, Amy, of EL Cajon, Calif., and Michael Gladu and his wife, Quinn, of Adams; four step-children, Steve Gladu and his wife Donna of Ruskin, Fla., Joanne Monaghan, and her husband, John, of Pittsfield; Lisa Gladu of Cummington, and Jeffery Gladu, and his wife, Linda, of San Benito, Texas; her sister, Alice Morrow, and her husband S.L., of San Benito, Texas; daughter-in-law, Nancy Derby and her husband, Sherman, of Hancock; 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Leo, and Lawrence Carlotto, and by two sisters, Erma Carlotto and Gemma Wagner.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Livia M. Gladu will take place Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. David Raymond, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. There will be no calling hours.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Livia M. Gladu Memorial Baseball Fund in care of the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, which is in charge of arrangements.
