1926 - 2013 NORTH ADAMS Richard Joseph Bressette, 87, of 37 Chesbro Ave., died Friday July 12, 2013, at his home.
He was born in North Adams on June 2, 1926, son of William and Flora (Morris) Bressette. He attended the Holy Family School.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Richard worked for Morin Roofing and Green Mountain Race Track. He then worked as a truck driver for Arbor Acres and was last employed at the Eagles in North Adams.
He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church. Richard was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #310, and the Williamstown American Legion. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees baseball team.
Survivors include his wife, the former Cecilia Baker, whom he married June 30, 1948; one daughter, Brenda Noyes of Chatham; two sons, Kevin Bressette of Pownal, Vt., and Steven Bressette of Brewster; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
His son, Dale A. Bressette, died April 19, 1957, and his granddaughter, Alicia Bressette, died April 19, 1978. Two sisters and one brother are deceased, Marjorie Boucher Wheeler, Esther Bemis, and Albert Bressette.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Richard Bressette will be celebrated Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St., will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
