Jules Edward LOH Obituary
LOH Jules Edward, 79, of Tappan, NY, formerly of Old Tappan, on Sunday, August 29, 2010. He was an Associated Press reporter who covered the civil rights movement, the space program and other momentous stories. A veteran of four decades with the AP, Mr. Loh also covered both Kennedy assassinations, a Mexico City earthquake, political conventions and other major stories while roaming the United States. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean (nee Brown). Devoted father of Stephen of Hoffman Estates, IL, Catherine Tarpey of Mahopac, NY, Christine Taxeras, of Washington Township, NJ, Dennis of Ringoes, NJ, Maureen Loh of Doylestown, PA, Carolyn Norden of Haworth, NJ, Michael of NYC, and Eileen Loh of San Francisco, CA. Loving grandfather of eighteen grandchildren and one great grandson. Dear brother of Nan Bousquet, General Michael Loh (Ret.), and the late Mary Conley. He is also survived by many loving relatives. Mr. Loh graduated from Georgetown University and was a US Air Force veteran of the the Korean War. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Northvale, NJ, and was a member of The Rockland Historical Society, The Poets' Corner, and American Correspondents Covering America.A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Northvale, at 10 AM. Interment Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, (201-767-3050).
