GLEESON
Margaret M. "Peggy" (nee Clarke), 75, of Southold, NY formerly of Ridgewood, entered into eternal rest on March 3, 2014. Born in the Bronx, she was a graduate of Hunter College in Manhattan. Prior to her retirement in 2001, she had worked for the New York City Board of Education as a teacher in the South Bronx. Peggy was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Ridgewood, St. Patrick's Church in Southold, a member of the "Red Hats" of Suffolk County and a proud member of the United Federation of Teachers. She is survived by her loving children, Dennis of Kings Park, NY, Kevin (Kathy) of Marietta, GA, and Tara Mulvaney (Craig) of Manasquan, NJ, her beloved grandchildren Jake and Kayleigh Gleeson, and Natalie and Ryan Mulvaney, a brother William Clarke as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph and her brother John. A visitation will be held on Thursday March 6th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, 306 E. Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday March 7th at 10:45 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Ridgewood. On Saturday March 8th at 11:30 am a funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church 52125 Main Rd., Southold, NY with burial to follow at the St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to advance research, support patients, and create hope would be appreciated.
