Was thinking of Roy today, he´s popped to mind a few times the last week or two. He taught tai chi many times at the summer camp and after school program at my church (First Presbyterian in Edgewater, Ciao Pals) when I was a kid. I admit I fooled around sometimes and quietly got quite a few laughs from what I found to be a very strange, very new to me art/sport. I know we could be a pain sometimes. But he persisted. And we learned, a little tai chi, definite acceptance and understanding of new ways of doing things and of those different from you. Even then I can remember respecting how much he cared about us kids learning and about tai chi. At 29 and 26, my brother and I, my mom (who sat in on a class or two) and some of the other former campers still speak fondly of Roy and have some really great memories that bring a smile and a laugh. He is missed. I pray in Jesus´ name for his family and loved ones. Thanks for sharing him with the community.

Dear Uncle Roy,
You are the best uncle a niece can ask for and I am going to miss you a lot. You were like a dad and you taught me so much. You are a great person and I will never forget you and know that we will meet again some day. I love you.

God gave me a beautiful brother to cherish and love. I was blessed throughout my entire life having Roy as my brother. Unfortunately his life was cut short and my time with him has ceased. I will miss him wherever I am and whatever I do. Linda, your sister xxxxxxxx

In a place where roads are
sparkling rivers
Men gather stones and carve
spiral emblems
You divine in them
their sky and their stars.

Irreplaceable Esoterica Americanus ~ no one like him or will ever be . He will find a way to hold court in the hereafter with an espresso and a paint brush. Peace.

“When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun.”
