Kaufmann-Millman, Lisa Rae* - Harrington Park
KAUFMANN-MILLMAN Lisa Rae, August 29, 1960-April 29, 2015. On the one-year anniversary of her passing, we remember Lisa Rae Kaufmann-Millman, who died of an unexpected illness while travelling in Hawaii. Lisa, the daughter of Diane Kelly Kaufmann and Edward Kaufmann, was born and raised in Boulder, CO with her sisters, Kimberly Kaufmann-Brisby and Lori Bergen. Following her graduation from University of Denver in 1981, she moved to New York with her college sweetheart and love of her life, Richard Millman. Together, they started a successful catering business and raised Brittany, Courtney and Jennifer in Harrington Park, NJ. Lisa's children were her entire world, and she worked tirelessly to ensure they had enriching childhoods. In 2000, Lisa earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from NYU. She cherished her time working in the Demarest Public Schools, and made it her life's work helping the less fortunate, especially children with special needs. Lisa treasured her time with her father-in-law and loyal companion, Herman Millman. In recent years, her thirst for travel drove her to explore the world, and embrace her passion for elephants, nature, and culture. She worked as a volunteer from Africa to Southeast Asia, and continued on her mission to leave the world a better place. We miss her deeply, and will forever keep her memory in our hearts.
