Hubner, Donald* - Pompton Plains  
HUBNER Donald A. passed peacefully into God's arms on July 19, 2016 at the age of 89, or as he liked to say "his 90th year of life". Don grew up in Bloomingdale, NJ and then spent most of his adult life as a resident of Pompton Plains, NJ where he raised his family. Don was predeceased by his mother and father, Elizabeth Shippee Hubner and Cornelius A. Hubner, his bother Cornelius E. "Bud" Hubner and his sister Cynthia Ix. He was a proud veteran of World War II, served as President of Central Shippee/Allied Felt of Bloomingdale, N.J., was a shareholder with his brother and others in American Felt and Filter Co. of New Windsor, N.Y. and served on the corporate and foundation boards of Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains, N.J, Don is survived by three sons, Patrick, Michael and Anthony (Tony) who were married, as Don was fond of saying, to his "three favorite daughters-in-law", Betsy, Gloria and Carol. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Carol (Dow) Hubner. Viewing hours will be Monday, July 25th, from 4-8 PM at Our Lady Of Magnificat RC Church, 2 Miller Road, Kinnelon, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday 11:00 AM also at Our Lady Of Magnificat RC Church, Kinnelon, NJ. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler, NJ. PEQUANNOCK — Services will be held for Donald A. Hubner, 89, of the Pompton Plains area of this township, who died on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Born in Bloomingdale, Mr. Hubner lived in Pompton Plains for most of his life. He was president of Central Shippee/Allied Felt of Bloomingdale. Also, he was a shareholder of American Felt and Filter Co., New Windsor, N.Y. He was a member of the corporate and foundation boards of Chilton Hospital, Pompton Plains. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. And, he had attended Fordham University and Syracuse University. Arrangements are by the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler. Mr. Hubner is survived by his sons, Patrick, Michael, and Anthony; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Carol Dow; his parents, Elizabeth and Cornelius; his brother, Cornelius; and his sister, Cynthia Ix.

Hurt, Kevin (Editorial) - Kinnelon  
KINNELON — Services were held for Kevin H. Hurt, 74, of this community, who died on Friday, July 15, 2016. Born in Paterson, Mr. Hurt was raised in Fayson Lakes and was a longtime resident of Kinnelon. He was a physical education teacher for the West Milford school district for 39 years before retiring. Also, he was one of the first football players named to the Miami Dolphins roster. He was a volunteer coach for the Kinnelon Junior Football Program as well. Services were Tuesday at Our Lady of the Magnificat R.C. Church, Kinnelon. Arrangements were by the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler. Mr. Hurt is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Kevin Hurt, Kelly Pellegrini, Kerry Hurt, and Kristen Purdue; his sister, Marcy Burrows; his brothers, Billy and Gregory; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents, Haworth and Ellen.
