GERNHARDT, Josette B.* - Mahwah  
GERNHARDT Josette B., age 68, of Mah-wah, NJ passed into eternal life May 30, 2015. Beloved wife of Ulrich "Uli", mother of Mike and Carolyn, grandmother of Isabelle and Connor. Born in Paris, France September 2, 1946. She grew up in Switzerland, lived with her husband for 12 years in Germany. Setting for herself the highest standards she was appointed President of an affiliate company of a multinational manufacturing company in Germany. In 1979 she relocated with her husband and son to Mahwah, N.J. Being multilingual she taught German and French at the Ramsey Adult School. She attended Ramapo College studying as a major Computer Science. She was deeply involved in Special Education in children and adults with special needs. Josette became a Realtor in 1997 and joined RE/MAX in 1999. She was a member of the Committee for Continuing Education (Real Source) and Co-Chair of the International Committee of Real Source Board of Realtors. Josette had a deep love for animals and supported the shelters in surrounding communities. Josette touched the lives of many people personally and professionally. She was strong and demanding but at the same time loving, caring and passionate. She helped and encouraged, supported and promoted the people she loved. Her motto was always "To those I love and who love me." Total dedication and unlimited love. "She was one tough cookie." The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com , 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, N.J. 07481. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 4th at 10am at Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, N.J. 07458. Halasz, Edward* - Garfield  
HALASZ Edward S., 78, of Garfield died Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Born in Passaic, New Jersey, Mr. Halasz resided in Garfield for most of his life. For 32 years, he had been employed as a bus driver at NJ Transit in Passaic and Paterson retiring in 1998. He was a veteran of the US Navy from 1954-58. Mr. Halasz was a dear friend to many and was dedicated to helping people in need. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Carol De Koyer, in 1976; by his brother, Ernest and his sister, Ilona Pal. Survivors include his two sons, Edward S. Halasz, Jr. and his wife, Julia of Bellingham, WA and Andrew J. Halasz and his wife, Alison of Pittsburgh, PA; and by his three grandchildren, Myla, Katherine and Emily. Hazekamp, Harold* - Riverdale  
HAZEKAMP Harold 87, of Riverdale went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2015. Born in Clifton, he was the son of the late Dina (Cornelius) and Simon Hazekamp. Mr. Hazekamp was the owner of Hazekamp Construction Co. of Riverdale, a supporter of the Christian Service Brigade and Northern Frontier Camp, he was a former member of Riverdale Bible Church where he served on the Board of Deacons and taught Sunday School, he was the former building inspector and served on the Board of Education in Riverdale. Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by his siblings, Fred, Matt, Dina, Irene, Jeanette, Jim, and Simon. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joanne Hyskell Hazekamp. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Donald, Richard (wife, Bonnie), David (wife Donna) three daughters, Barbara Gill (husband, George), Karen Haas (husband, Rudy), Diane Rocks (husband, Gary), two sisters, Dorothy Dunn and Joan Pfefferkorn , sixteen grandchildren, Cole, Annette, Kristen, Kim, Becky, Mike, Tiffany, Jason, Melani, Heather, Douglas, Brian, Kaitlin, Sean, Courtney and Brianna and twenty two great-grandchildren. Funeral service at 10AM at the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale on Wednesday, June 2, 2015. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 2 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Kraft, Mary (Editorial) - Rutherford  
RUTHERFORD - Mary (nee O'Keefe) Kraft, 86, of Rutherford, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at home with her family. Mrs. Kraft worked in sales for R.S. Knapp Company. She stayed active as a founding member of the Sunrise chapter of Sweet Adeline's and with Starfish, providing rides for local seniors. She was president of the Rosary Society of St. Mary's Church, where she was also a Eucharistic minister, lector and choir member. Mrs. Kraft lived for her family, and she was the center of her children's world. Her favorite activity was the hours spent being her children's and grandchildren's No. 1 cheerleader, never missing a dance recital, concert, school play or ballgame. Mrs. Kraft was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence F. and grandmother of the late Caitlin Kraft. She was loving mother of Kathleen English and her husband, David, Barbara Stiehler and her husband, Keith, Lawrence Kraft and his wife, Janet, Timothy Kraft and his wife, Kristina, Michael Kraft and his wife, Jan, and Kelly Kraft and her husband, Scott Chaimowicz, devoted sister of Eileen and William Smith, Joseph and the late Maryann O'Keefe, the late Jack O'Keefe and his wife, Rose, and the late James O'Keefe and his wife, Pat, dear sister-in-law of Jack and Paul Kraft, cherished grandmother of Ryan, Dina, Brittany, Derek, Sarah, Kevin, Elijah, Jack, Tommy, Jesse, Nicoletta, Mary Elena, Jeremy, Jensen, Riley and Olivia, and adored great grandmother of Jameson and Remi. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her angels Trini and Lilly. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, June 3, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd., Lyndhurst. The funeral will be Thursday, June 4, at 8:30 a.m., from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will take place at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Rutherford.
