Schimmenti, Salvatore (Editorial) - West Milford  
WEST MILFORD — Services were held for Salvatore "Dr. Sal" Schimmenti, 55, of this township, who died on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Born in Sicily, Italy, Mr. Schimmenti came to the United States at the age of 6 and lived in Paterson before moving to West Milford in 1990. He was a chiropractor with West Milford Wellness Center for 30 years. Also, he was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts and West Milford sports teams. He was a West Milford councilman for three years. And, he was a member of the Knights of the Highlands Club. Services were Saturday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Hewitt, followed by burial at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Arrangements were by the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. Donations may be sent to the JDRF Northern NJ Chapter, 560 Sylvan Ave., Suite 1210, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632. Mr. Schimmenti is survived by his wife, the former Sandra Nardone; his sons, Joseph, Salvatore, and Alexander; his mother, Maria; and his sister, Anna Maria Kupchack. He was predeceased by his father, Guiseppe; and his brother, Joseph.

Schneider, John* - Washington Township  
SCHNEIDER John Adrian, of Township of Washington, passed away peacefully Thursday morning at the age of 57 in the home that he built. John resided in Bergen County, where he was born and worked as a respected contractor for much of his life. He also served as Deacon and Warden for Grace Episcopal Church in Westwood. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Susan. He is also survived by his daughter, Taylor, and son-in-law, Mina Shaker, and granddaughter, Olivia; his son, Stephen, and daughter-in-law, Monica Ortiz; and his son, Brent. Memorial services will be held Monday, March 2 at 10:30 AM at Grace Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sierra Club or to Grace Episcopal Church.

SPIRIG, Julius* - Not Provided  
SPIRIG Julius J. 92 passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his Clifton residence surrounded by his family. Born in Hoboken, he resided in Union City and Carlstadt before moving to Clifton 68 years ago. Julius is a US Army Veteran of WWII who served with the 16th Armored Division under Gen. Patton and participated in the liberation of Pilsen, Czeck. He was employed as an adjuster for the Allstate Insurance Co. for 35 years prior to his retirement. Julius is a member and former deacon of the United Reformed Church in Clifton. He is also a member of American Legion Post #8 and the VFW both in Clifton and the Oakland Rod & Gun Club. Julius enjoyed traveling, camping and attending army reunions in the US and abroad. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jean (Quadland), by two children, Gail Alzapiedi of Long Valley and Glenn Spirig of Clifton, by a brother, Frank Spirig of TX, by two sisters, Clara Faist of Carlstadt and Adelia Strickland of Orlando, FL and by many nieces and nephews. Julius is predeceased by a brother, John Spirig and by a sister, Josephine Bancale. His honesty was beyond reproach and his quick willingness to quietly help others will always be remembered. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ 07012 followed by burial at Cresthaven Memorial Park. SWEENEY Robin T. (nee Thwaites), 88, of Ridgefield Park, NJ. passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at her home. Born in Hackensack, she lived in Ridgefield Park most of her life. She was a member of the DAR, the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, War of 1812 Society, New England Women, and Daughters of the Confederacy. She proudly served her community as a Trustee and former President of the Ridgefield Park Library. Robin was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Sweeney, Jr, devoted mother of Thomas J. RINGWOOD — Services will be held for Kenneth Terhune, 84, of Walton, N.Y., who died on Monday, February 23, 2015. He was a former resident of this community. Born in Pompton Lakes, Mr. Terhune lived in Ringwood before moving to Walton 27 years ago. He was the owner and operator of Terhune Brothers Carpentry & Builders of Kinnelon and Ringwood before retiring 15 years ago. Services will be held in May.
