Aaron, age 90, of River Edge, died after a short illness on Friday, December 20, 2013. Artie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Estelle (Janowsky) Friedberg, by beloved daughter Suzanee Friedberg and special beloved grandson Lyle Yoder of Vermont. Born in New York City, Artie served 3 years in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He graduated in 1950 from New York University
where he earned a B.S. Degree in accounting. Ever grateful for the G.I. Bills Education opportunity, he worked many years as credit manager for several large corporations. At retirement Artie became a volunteer at Bergen Regional Medical Center as well as in the River Edge Library ESL Program; he loved both because of the people involved. He enjoyed hugely years of active tennis, poker games, and a lifelong love affair with great composers and opera singers. Love of singing brought him to the Temple Sholom Choir, in River Edge. Then he kept singing Hebrew melodies and opera arias until he couldn't anymore. A graveside service will be 2:30 PM today at Cedar Park Cemetery located at 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ. After services at the cemetery, family and friends may visit the Friedberg home or call anytime by telephone. Memorial donations in memory of Aaron Friedberg may be made to WNET, Radio Station WQXR or to your own favorite charity. Arrangements are by Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn, NJ.
