Alan Lustmann



LUSTMANN
Alan J. "Skippy," age 79, of Palisades Park, on April 17, 2013. He was born in Ridgefield and was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church of Palisades Park. He was a Police Officer for 41 years, 13 of which he served as the Chief of Palisades Park Police Department before retiring in 1995. His accomplishments in law enforcement included serving on the personal security staff of former President Richard M. Nixon. He earned eight Department Citations for Meritorious Service, recipient of the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association Award, a Life Saving Award and was the first Palisades Park Police Officer to fire a perfect "300" in the East Bergen Police Pistol League competition. He was a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police, Bergen County Police Chiefs Association, Life Member NJ State PBA (local 45) and the Honor Legion of the Police Departments of New Jersey. Beloved husband of 53 years to Eileen nee; Devlin. Devoted father of Lisa Douglass and Alan J. Lustmann, Jr. and his wife Laura. Cherished grandfather of Jessica, Melissa, Tristen and Jake. Loving brother of Patricia Forte, John Lustmann, and the late Ann Denny and Henry Lustmann. Adored by many nieces and nephews and countless friends. A truly special man who will be missed by all. The family will receive their friends on Saturday 6-8 PM and Sunday 3-7 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library".
