Albert George, age 94, formerly of Sunrise Assisted Living in Woodcliff Lake died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River.
He was born in New York City, but moved to Bergenfield, NJ at an early age. He moved to Hillsdale, NJ in 1950 where he remained until 1971 when he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and later to Ft. Pierce, FL. He returned to New Jersey in 2011. Before moving to Florida, Albert worked for 37 years at Bergen County Saw Works in Bergenfield.
He joined the U.S. Army during World War II and served in the Pacific Theater.
Albert is predeceased by his mother Rose and father Albert and his sisters Helen, Ann, and Marie. He is survived by his sister Doris and her husband Joseph, by his loving daughter Judith, his devoted son Albert and his wife Kathy, by grandsons Mathew and Kevin and by four great-grandchildren, Sophie, Lachlan, Henry and Ben as well as by his former wife Dorathea.
Arrangements will be handled by the Fred Hunter Funeral Home with burial at Hollywood Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, FL.
