Charles Dammann

Charles J., Jr., passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013, at the age of 86. Born in Jersey City, Charles has resided in Lyndhurst for the past 40 years. He was employed as a crane operator for Local 825, of which he was a member for 60 years.
Charles was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the K of C, Harrison Council 402 and a former parishioner of St. Boniface Parish. He played semi pro baseball for the Jersey City Destroyers and was a member of the North Arlington Bowling League, having bowled a perfect 300 game.
Charles is survived by his dear companion Marilyn Parente; devoted father of Wally C. Dammann, (Omara), Robert J. Dammann, (Karen), and the late Patricia Gillan; dear grandfather of Matthew Damman, Tara Fantacone and Michael Gillen; loving great-grandfather of Zachary Gillen, Cameron Dammon, Jack and Ava Fantacone; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Charles is predeceased by his brothers Christopher, John, James and his sister Margaret.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07306, on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from 4-8 PM. Cremation and burial of cremains will be held privately.
