David, age 84, of Fair Lawn died peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Hospice House of Hackensack.
Born in Salem, MA to Simon and Ida Miller (nee Ger), he spent his lifetime serving his family and community. From 1944-1948, he served on the light cruiser U.S.S. Dayton for the majority of his naval enlistment. David earned his undergraduate degree from Boston University, his Master's degree from Boston College, and his Advanced Degree from Harvard University. In 1961, after teaching math and history, he was made the youngest secondary school principal in the state of Massachusetts. In 1965, he and his beautiful wife Florence moved to Fair Lawn where he became principal of Thomas Jefferson and Memorial Junior High Schools.
Beloved husband of 56 years of Florence (Sudnovsky); loving father of Jim Miller and his wife, Christine and daughter Debbie Breslow and her husband Jay; devoted grandfather of Joshua, Matthew, Robert, Kenneth, Daniel, and Jack; and dear brother of Lawrence Miller.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 9:00 AM at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, W-150 Route 4 (East), Paramus, NJ.
Memorial donations may be made to the Fair Lawn Chapter of Hadassah, Fair Lawn Jewish Center-CBI, or Hospice House of Hackensack.
