Fair Lawn — David Miller, 84, died Nov. 7.
Born in Salem, Mass., he spent his lifetime serving his family and community. From 1944 to 1948, he served on the light cruiser U.S.S. Dayton for the majority of his naval enlistment. David earned his undergraduate degree from Boston University, his Master's degree from Boston College, and his Advanced Degree from Harvard University
. In 1961, after teaching math and history, he was made the youngest secondary school principal in the state of Massachusetts. In 1965, he and his beautiful wife Florence moved to Fair Lawn where he became principal of Thomas Jefferson and Memorial Junior High Schools.
He was the husband of 56 years of Florence; father of Jim Miller and his wife, Christine, and Debbie Breslow and her husband, Jay; grandfather of six; and brother of Lawrence Miller.
Funeral was Nov. 9 Arrangements by Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, Paramus.
Memorial donations may be made to the Fair Lawn Chapter of Hadassah, Fair Lawn Jewish Center-CBI, or Hospice House of Hackensack.
