Franklin Leesman

Franklin, 88, of Hawthorne on Friday, February 14, 2014.
Born in Paterson, Franklin has resided in Hawthorne since 1956, where he raised his family.
He proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Forces. He attended Hawthorne Gospel Church. He served as Treasurer of The Hawthorne Cubs and was a former member of The Hawthorne Elks Club. Franklin was a member of the Atlantic Coast Old Timers Auto Racing Club and the Yankee Air Museum.
Franklin owned The Leesman Insurance Agency and Franklin Leesman Real Estate in Hawthorne for more than 50 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elsie (nee Stokes) Leesman of Hawthorne. He is also survived by his two loving daughters, Nancy (Tom) Eardley of Grand Rapids, Michigan and their children, Kristin and Kerry, and Betsy Ertmann and her children, Ryan and Jennifer of Allendale, and a loving son Paul Leesman and his wife, Jeannie West and their children, Rachel and Zachary Leesman and Danielle Mauceri of Oakland.
He was predeceased by his adoring sister Alice Hall.
Funeral services will be private. The visiting hours are Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Hawthorne Boys and Girls Club 150 Maitland Avenue Hawthorne, NJ 07506 would be greatly appreciated.
