George Roseberry

George, 90, of Saddle River, NJ formerly of Clifton, NJ died of natural causes on February 4, 2014. George was the devoted husband of Marie Roseberry (formerly Marie Costello) for 66 years, and the loving father of Georgeann Solotruk. He is also survived by son-in-law Ronald Solotruk and granddaughters Melissa Todisco and Lindsay Solotruk. He has one great-grandson, Nicholas Todisco.
George was born on December 1, 1923 in Paterson, NJ where he resided until marrying Marie, when they moved to Clifton. In 2010, he and his wife moved to Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Saddle River.
George served in the US Army as a paratrooper on active duty in the Philippines during World War II. He later served in the US Naval Reserve in New Jersey. George studied and trained as an aviation mechanic and was employed by a number of flight service companies at Newark Airport. He became an expert on the care and maintenance of Gulfstream private aircraft and was late reemployed by Exxon Corporation as flight engineer, enabling him to travel the world ensuring the safety and proper maintenance of Exxon's corporate jets.
The family will be taking visitors at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home at 1313 Van Houten Avenue in Clifton from 3:30-7:30 PM on Thursday. A funeral service will be in the morning at 10:30 AM on Friday, and he will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson. George was a fantastic father and husband and will be missed dearly by his entire family.
