Georgia, 96, of Pompton Lakes, died at home Wednesday, December 26, 2012.
Born in New York City, Georgia was the daughter of George and Marion O'Hara. She has been a resident of Pompton Lakes since 1945. Along with her husband Eugene, Georgia owned and managed two small businesses there: the Cardinal and Shopper's Luncheonette. She also was a longtime volunteer at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains.
Georgia is survived by her children, Eugene, John, Ruth Thomas and Evelyn Proffit, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be 11 AM. to 1 PM. Tuesday, January 8 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A service will be held at the funeral home 1 PM Tuesday at the conclusion of visiting hours. Burial will follow at Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Chilton Memorial Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
