Gioacchino Cicero

Gioacchino, age 78, of Elmwood Park, died on February 28, 2014. Born in Castelbuono, Sicily-Italy, he lived there for 35 years, Garfield for 16 years, and Elmwood Park the past 27 years. He was a veteran of the Italian Army, and in Italy, he was a self-employed marble mason. When he came to America, he was a dye machine operator retiring from Manner Textile, North Haledon in 1999, and he was a parishioner of Most Holy Name Church, Garfield. He is predeceased by his daughter, Rosaria Cicero in 1985, and his parents, Lorenzo and Rosaria Cicero. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Nicoletta (nee Fina), two sons, Lorenzo and Frank, a brother, Domenico, and two sisters, Vincenza Mazzola and Giovanna Venturella. Visiting Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral is Wednesday, March 5, 2014, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 AM, followed by a 9 AM Mass at Most Holy Name Church, Garfield.
