MANASQUAN — Gregory P. Sullivan, 81, formerly of Ridgewood, died on June 3.
Born in Ridgewood, son of the late Arthur and Emelie, he attended grammar school at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel before graduating from Delbarton Academy in 1950. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame
in 1954, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ridgewood and St. Catharine's Church in Spring Lake. He was engaged as a Eucharistic minister, a lector, a member of the parish steering committee and in several other parish ministries throughout the years. He was an executive at Frank B. Hall, Alexander & Alexander and its successor Aon, from which he retired at age 75. He was a member of the Average Adjusters Association of the United States and the Maritime Law Association of the United States. Honored with many awards in his industry, he spent his summers on the North End beach in Spring Lake with his family.
He is survived by his aunt, Elaine Sullivan of Waldwick; his sister, Patricia "Patsy" Sullivan of Ridgewood; his children, Kathleen (Jerry) Pawloski of Midland Park, Julia (Philip) Sloan of Ho-Ho-Kus, Amy (Jim) Kaden of Porter, Texas, Gregory P. (Helen) Sullivan Jr. of New Providence, Jack (Mary Ann) Sullivan of Oceanport, Lucy (TJ) Schlesinger of Medfield, Mass., Dennis (Anna) Sullivan of Beltsville, Md., Patrick (Carolyn) Sullivan of Little Silver, James (Gail) Sullivan of Wall, Mark (Janine) Sullivan of Cranford and Jane (Danny) Dougherty of Brielle; and his 38 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joan and Eugene; and his wife of 47 years, Patricia (Verdon).
A funeral Mass was celebrated on June 7 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood, followed by burial at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.
