Horace Di Tecco

Horace "Orazio," 83, of Paramus, formerly of Garfield and Elmwood Park, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.
Horace graduated Garfield High School and then Fairleigh Dickenson University with his Masters in Business Administration.
Before retiring in 1992 Horace worked for The Record in Hackensack in the Advertising Sales Department.
He was an active antique car hobbyist who restored over 30 cars from unrestored cars to show winning classics. Horace prided himself in bringing people together to share common interests.
He was a co-founder of the Restored Rusty Relics in Paramus, Past President Garden State Region Half Century Club and several other car clubs.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church in Paramus and an Army Veteran who served our country proudly during the Korean War. While enlisted he traveled extensively through out Europe playing the saxophone and clarinet with the U.S. Army Band.
Cherished husband of 55 years to Barbara (nee Smilansky). Beloved father of Fredric Di Tecco and his wife Denise of Township of Washington and Donna Papson and her husband Keith of Vernon. Devoted grandfather of Alicia, Ashley and Palmer. Dear brother of Malvina Pettineo and her husband Frank of New Port Richey, FL.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home followed by a 11 AM Funeral Mass at the Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, 234 N. Farview Avenue, Paramus. Entombment Garden of Memories, Township of Washington.
