Irene Anderson

WANAQUE — Services were held for Irene Shippee Anderson, 87, of the Haskell section of this community, who died on Thursday, January 9, 2014.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Anderson lived in Butler before moving to Haskell, where she lived for most of her life. She worked for Artistic Weaving, Pompton Lakes, for 25 years before retiring in 1991. Also, she was a former member of the Mothers Club and a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Haskell. She was a member of the Wanaque Golden Age Club and the Wanaque Democratic Club as well.

Services were Monday at the D'Agostino Funeral Home, Haskell, followed by Mass at St. Francis R.C. Church. Interment was at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Wanaque First Aid Squad and Fire Department.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her sons, William of Haskell, Glenn of Wanaque, Brian of New York City, Cray of Wayne, Kevin of Haskell, and Blair of Haskell; her daughters, Lois Anderson of Wayne, and Irene Jergensen of Mahwah; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
