James N. Apostle

James N., of Washington Twp., long-time resident of Haworth, New Jersey died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Englewood Hospital after a well fought bout with Cancer.
Born in Washington Heights, NY on August 7 to Nicholas and Mary, Jimmy was the youngest of four boys. After serving his country in the US Army, Jim entered the family funeral directing business in Riverdale, NY and would eventually move on to become a talented CPA and received his degree from Pace University in New York.
Jimmy was an avid golfer and long-time member of Glen Ridge County Club, never turning down an afternoon of golf whether for various charities or with his favorite foursome. Travel was a way of life for Jimmy and his wife of 47 years, Athena (Tina). Recent trips to Egypt and China will top a long list and life of memorable travels with his long time love.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Athena (Tina), daughters, Maria Nicole Apostle and Andrea Lauterback. Son-in-law Paul Lauterback and grandchildren, Avery, Nicole, and Hayden Paul. His mother Mary Apostle, brothers Gregory and wife Maria Apostle and Basil and wife Maria Apostle. Nephews, Nicholas, Christopher, Andrew, Alexander and Gregory. God-son Christopher Papataros, and all great nephews and nieces. Jimmy will join his brother Christopher and late father Nicholas Apostle in eternal life.
The family will receive guests at both The Riverdale Funeral Home, Riverdale, NY Monday, May 27 5-8 PM and Volk Leber Funeral Home, Teaneck, NJ Tuesday, May 28 3-5, 7-9. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 29, 12 Noon at St. John the Theologian G.O. Church, Tenafly, NJ.
