John A., of Stuart, FL, formally of Cresskill, passed away on Tuesday December 10, 2013. Husband of Wilma. Beloved father of Frank, Steven and his wife Amy, Susan Cortazzo-Connolly and her husband Tom and the late John. Also survived by daughters-in-law Joan and Patti. Adored grandfather to Frank Cortazzo and his wife Cara, Gina Cortazzo-Fasulo and her husband Christopher, Thomas Connolly and his wife Amanda, Michael Cortazzo and his wife Jessica, Alyssa Connolly and fiancée Angelo LoPiccolo, Marissa Cortazzo, Angelina Cortazzo, Stephanie Cortazzo, Gianna Cortazzo and Anthony Cortazzo. Cherished great-grandfather to Jake, Vincent, Aria and Damian. Dear brother of the late Camille Lostritto.
John was a US Marine Corp. Veteran. Before retiring, he was a Homicide Detective with the NYPD. Upon retirement he became very active in the Elks in Florida. John loved and lived life to the fullest. He was most proud of his career as a NYPD Detective. He was an avid racquetball player, and was an extremely talented carpenter. With a voice like Frank Sinatra he loved to sing to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.
