John J., 85, of Montvale, NJ completed his earthly journey on Monday, June 17, 2013.
Loving and energetic husband of Barbara (nee Demchak).
He is survived by his two nephews, Victor Zazzu and his partner Vivian Han and John Zazzu and his wife Carol Lynn all of Belle Mead, NJ; grand nephews John, Jr., and his fiancé Lauren Bilotti and Michael Zazzu; grand niece Lynn Marie and her husband Jason Hartman. Brother-in-law David Demchak, and his son Eric and wife Wendy and their children Alyssa, Abigayle, Adelyn and Amberly of Marysville, Ohio; predeceased by his parents and three caring sisters, Lena, Jennie and Sarah.
John is the son of Italian immigrants who came through Ellis Island to our land of opportunity. John, the fourth child, was born in Little Italy in 1927. He attended New York City schools and graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1946. He was a United States Army
veteran serving in 1946-47 in Camp Lee, VA and Korea. After military service, he attended Purdue University
in Indiana and earned a B. S. degree in Chemical Engineering in 1951.
John enjoyed over 45 years of a successful sales career in chemicals, coatings, plastics and adhesives for many prominent corporations. His positions in these companies provided opportunities to travel in the US, Canada, many European countries, South America, Australia and the Far East, including Japan and Taiwan.
A list of his talents and interests would be very long. He was an example of the Renaissance Man, who could build a bookcase and desk; enjoy classical music, art and plays; complete electrical repairs; prepare his delicious gravy, manicotti, sausage and peppers; passionately watch the NY Giants and Yankees; finish a crossword puzzle daily; food shop; compete in tennis; play cards and games; and always had a hearty laugh which people responded to plus a down to earth and sophisticated sense of humor, to name a few endeavors.
