Kathryne Therese Badecker

BADECKER Kathryne Therese, 80, of Brick, died of a stroke on March 22, 2008 in Baltimore, MD. Born in New York City, she spent her childhood in Teaneck. Kathryne and William Badecker were married in 1948 and moved to Monmouth County in 1957, residing in Hazlet, Rumson, Locust and finally Brick. She also resided in New Smyrna, FL, until her husband's death. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener. Before her retirement, she volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program in Red Bank, NJ, and served as treasurer for that chapter of the organization. After her retirement, she volunteered on a personal basis for many of her senior friends and neighbors. Mrs. Badecker was predeceased by her parents John and Helen Ramsay; by her husband William J. Badecker, Jr.; by her brother and his wife Robert and Rose Ramsay; and by her sister-in-law Leona Ramsay. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Drs. William Badecker and Kathleen Straub of Baltimore, MD; Charles Badecker of Brick, NJ; and James and Colleen Badecker of Manasquan, NJ; by her brothers and their spouses John and Jane Ramsay, Richard and Virginia Ramsay, William and Linda Ramsay, Larry and Kathy Ramsay, and Gerard and Regina Ramsay; by her grandchildren Alex, Tori and Kate Badecker; by her in-laws George and Marie Benas; Therese Hollenstein, and Joseph and Eileen Kovatch; by her 37 nieces and nephews, and by many, many dear friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 11 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Manasquan. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St., Manasquan. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in her memory to the Brain Rescue Unit of the John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD 21287.
