BUTLER — Services were held for Louis L. Sledge, 81, of Hardyston, who died on Saturday, October 6, 2012. He was a former resident of this borough.
Born in Clifton, Mr. Sledge lived in Butler for 44 years before moving to Hardyston in 2006. He was an electrical engineer at Bendix Corp., Teterboro, before retiring in 1992. A U.S. Navy
veteran of the Korean War
, he was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Butler. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 943, Butler. And, he was a parishioner of Saint Jude the Apostle Church, Hamburg.
Services were Friday at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, Franklin, followed by Mass at Saint Jude the Apostle Church. Entombment was at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum, Hardyston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the St. Jude the Apostle Church Building Fund, 4-24 Beaver Run Road, P.O. Box 1, Hamburg, NJ 07419.
Mr. Sledge is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Weigh; his children, Michael Sledge, Cynthia Rose, Thomas Sledge, Patricia Campbell, and Brian Sledge; his sister, Arleen Grudus; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Anna.
