Manfred Anson

Manfred, 89, of Bergenfield, NJ, formerly of Germany and Australia passed away on January 4, 2012. Survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Judith M. Anson; his loving children Deborah Siefken and Joel Anson, he was the cherished grandfather "Opa" of Daniel and Kayla Siefken, devoted brother of Sigrid Jean Strauss, brother-in-law Fred Strauss, beloved uncle of Larry Strauss and Marsha Alter. Manfred was born in Dinkelsbuhl, Germany on February 4, 1922. He attended Horticultural School and was in the Australian Army during WWII. He emigrated to the United States in 1963 and imported Australian Merchandise. Manfred had a unique collection of Judaica, that is shown in museums around the world. He designed the Statue of Liberty Menorah that is pictured on many calendars. Service 11 AM Friday at Gutterman and Musicant 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ. Memorial contributions may be directed to Triboro Hadassah or the Jewish War Veterans.
