Mario, 87, of Clifton passed away peacefully in his home on June 24, 2013.
Mario came to the United States from Italy with his wife Josephine and two year old daughter Marilyn in 1965. They settled in Passaic, New Jersey and two years later welcomed their daughter Joann. They moved to Clifton in 1979 where they remain today.
Mario worked for the Givaudan Corporation in Clifton for twenty-four years.
He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton. He was also a member of the St. Bartolomeo Society which celebrates the life of the Protector Saint of his town in Sicily, Geraci Siculo. Mario was a happy, cheerful and funny man.
He was predeceased by two dear sisters, Marianna Scelfo and Nancy Iuppa.
Mario is survived by his beloved wife, Josephine (nee Iuppa); his two loving daughters: Marilyn Marks and her husband, Jeffrey, of Montville and Dr. Joann Alfonzo-Klangasky and her husband, Martin, of Woodland Park; two sisters: Maria Doccola of Staten Island, NY and Josephine Antista of Clifton; four cherished grandchildren: Alexandra and Jordan Marks and James and Matthew Klangasky; and several dear nieces and nephews.
He was happiest being with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he cherished and adored.
Funeral services will be Thursday 9:15 AM from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton and 10 AM at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson. Visiting Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
