Mario DeAppolonio

Mario P. 94, of Hasbrouck Heights, formerly of Wood-Ridge, passed away on May 6, 2013. Born in New York City to the late Valentino and Ida DeAppolonio. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving on the Army Hospital Ship "The Thistle" and a past commander of the V.F.W. Post 3616 in Wood-Ridge. Before retiring, Mario was a compositor for Baxter & Spencer Publishing House in New York City. He was a volunteer at the Veterans Home in Paramus for twenty-two years, a member of the Salt Water Anglers of Bergen County and the Communication Workers of America. Beloved husband of sixty-six years to Veronica "Ronnie" (nee Lieto) DeAppolonio. Devoted father of Dennis DeAppolonio and his wife Susan of Sutton, NH, Paul DeAppolonio and his wife Denise of Clifton and Donna Greulich and her husband Kenneth of Vernon. Dear twin brother of the late Edward DeAppolonio. Brother-in-law of Louise DeAppolonio of Paramus. Loving grandfather of Catherine, Christopher, Michelle and Kevin. Also survived by his nieces and nephews. Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave., Hasbrouck Heights on Wednesday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church, Wood-Ridge at 9:30 AM. Entombment following at Calvary Mausoleum, Paterson. Visitation Tuesday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM.
