Matthew, 77, of Dumont, NJ passed away peacefully on February 1, 2014.
Born on September 2, 1936 to the late Rosa (nee: Calabria) and Pasquale Rovetto, Matthew was a proud Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in October 1965. He was employed as a Sheet Metal Worker for Sheet Metal Workers Local #28 in NYC for many years. In his leisure time, Matthew enjoyed playing handball, eating, and most importantly, staying home with his family and apple picking yearly with them all, especially his grandchildren.
Matthew will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Gail (nee Brassel), his devoted children: Mark Rovetto and Jackie Rovetto, and his dear siblings; Dave, Johnny, Vinnie, Rosario "Russ" Rovetto, and Marie Manfred. A great joy in Matthew's life were his three cherished grandchildren; Stephanie, Justin, and Gabriel, one great-granddaughter, Charlotte, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kim; and his five siblings, Sam, Millie, Rose, Pete, and Joe.
The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014, 11 AM at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. Interment Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. The family will welcome friends Wednesday, February 5, 2014, 2-4 and 7-9 P.M at the funeral home.
