Afsar S. Fatemi, 75, of Ho-Ho-Kus, died on Oct. 14.
Born in Tehran, Iran, she was the daughter of Maryam Farman Farmaian Firouz and General Abbas Gholi Nouri Esfandiary. She completed her primary and secondary education in England and was a graduate of Parsons School of Design. She received a bachelor of science degree in arts and design from New York University
. She worked at the Guggenheim Museum, was a parent educator, and in her volunteer activity, her emphasis was to help the needy.
She is survived by her husband, Faramarz S. Fatemi; her daughter, Roshanak F. Lyle and son-in-law Keith A. Lyle; her grandchildren, Gavin and Chase Lyle; her son-in-law, Peter Moir; and her sister, Afsaneh Nouri Esfandiary Gidfar. She was predeceased by her daughter, Faranak Fatemi Moir.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. in Wyckoff. Funeral services are private.
