Patsy Affinito

Patsy, age 88, of Paramus, on Monday, September 16, 2013. Patsy was born and raised in Monongahela, PA. He joined the United States Marine Corps during World War II, serving from 1942-1945 in the Central Pacific Theater. He moved to Paterson in 1948 and was an officer in the Paterson Police Department from 1961-1986. Patsy was a state delegate for the Paterson PBA Local #1 from 1970-1986, a former Vice President of the New Jersey State PBA, a member of the Police Training Commission and a member of the Paterson Elks. Patsy retired to Toms River in 1987 and lived there until moving to Paramus in 2004. Patsy Affinito was the beloved husband of the late Concetta (nee: Russo) Affinito (1995). He is survived by his son Vincent Affinito of Hawthorne, his wife Joanne, and their children Nicole Fernandez (Tony) and Dana Affinito; daughter, Patricia Fiorilla of Warwick, NY, her children Lori Dragonetti and Dina Fiorilla; daughter Donna Hamway, her husband Doug, and their children Elisa, Doug, and Danielle Hamway. Dear great-grandfather of Isabella, Anabella, Vincent, Joseph, Robert, Ava and Laura. Dearest brother of Eunice Yocalano and her husband Manuel of Monongahela, PA, the late Don Affinito and the late Diana Roman. Funeral will depart at 9:30 AM on Friday, September 20, 2013 from the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, for a 10 AM funeral mass at St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Hawthorne. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Paterson. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Ave, Suite 1802, New York, NY 10001.
