Peter N., age 93, of Harrington Park, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2013. Peter was born on May 2, 1919, in Amsterdam, Holland. Peter resided in Englewood, Palisades Park for 47 years, and Harrington Park. He grew up in Englewood, NJ, where he attended Dwight Morrow High School and was a three sport stand out from 1936 to 1938. Peter was captain on the state champs soccer team and starred on the basketball and baseball teams. Peter also attended Horace Mann Prep School where he was also a three sport stand out. He served in the US Air Force during World War II
and played for the US Air Force Basketball team, the Super Bombers. Peter was inducted into the Semi Pro baseball Hall of Fame in 1989 as a Catcher. After serving in the US Air Force, Peter worked for the American Can Company in Hoboken for 30 years.
Peter is survived by his wife Florence Elizabeth (nee Mott). Devoted father of Peter W. Kruimer and his wife Eileen, Karen L. Wehrle, beloved daughter, the late Kathy L. Grajauskas and her husband Harvey. Cherished grandchildren Christopher P. Kruimer, Gregory B. Kruimer, Thomas Grajauskas, Lydia Grajauskas, Rebecca Wehrle, Priscilla Wehrle, and great grandchild Liam Patrick Kerrigan.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday 10 AM at the Moritz Funeral Home, 348 Closter Dock Road, Closter, NJ. 201-768-4200. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Visiting Hours Monday from 7-9 PM at Moritz Funeral Home (wwwmoritzfh.net
