Roy Anton, died February 28, 2013 at the age of 96 in Manchester, CT. Born on January 20, 1917 on Staten Island, the son of Hildegard Louise Johnson and Anton Edwin Johnson, he grew up in New York City but lived most of his life in Demarest, NJ. After graduating from Stuyvesant High School he studied mechanical engineering at Purdue University
. He was a piping engineer by trade and a passionate model railroader in his leisure time. Roy was also a talented woodworker and gardener who loved music, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was a kind and generous man. Roy was predeceased by his beloved wife of fifty years, Florence Hoag Johnson, and his second wife, Dorothy Myers Johnson who passed away in 2005. He is survived by his son, Craig Johnson of Bolton, CT; daughter Svea Meyer and her husband Thomas of Lebanon, CT; granddaughters Kelli Johnson, Alyssa Meyer, Sarah Swindells and her husband Scott; grandsons Michael Johnson, Adam Meyer; and two great-grandchildren.
