Sal Barbagallo

Sal, 75, of Colts Neck, passed away on Saturday, October 12. Born in Paterson to the late Salvatore and Virginia Barbagallo, he resided in West Paterson with his wife and family before moving to Colts Neck 33 years ago. Sal will be fondly remembered in Colts Neck as the builder of its Library, champion of its Community Center, President of its Planning Board, and founder of its Business Association. He will also be remembered as the President of Middletown Lions, a Colts Neck Lion, Perkins Good Old Boy, White Pines Winery vintner, owner of the Fireside Grill & Bar and Monmouth Excavators, fireman, fire police, contractor, surveyor, pilot, epicurean, homebuilder, woodworker, mentor, businessman, volunteer, husband, father, grandfather, and grandmaster of opinions.
Sal is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Barbagallo (Manfre), of Colts Neck, son Tony and wife Loree of Vermont, daughter Joann and husband Michael of Colts Neck, brother Angelo and wife Eileen, sister-in-law Carmella, and four beloved grandchildren: Michael, Carly, Dylan, and Peter. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Joseph.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 15 from 12-2 PM at St. Mary's Church, Colts Neck, with a memorial mass beginning at 2:15 PM.
