Selmer Jensen

JENSEN
Selmer, better known as Sam, died peacefully in his sleep on November 2, 2013. Sam was born in Brooklyn, NY to Jens and Sophie Jensen, on September 30, 1916.
After serving in World War II, he returned to Brooklyn and went to work as an Officer for the Brooklyn Police Department for five years, before accepting a position with B. F. Goodrich, where he enjoyed a very successful career until he retired in 1983.
He and his wife moved to Inverness, Florida in 1986.
He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor, and most recently by his sister, Evelyn.
Sam is survived by many nieces and nephews all of whom surrounded him with their love and respect always, and he was lovingly known as "Papa Sam" by his grandnieces, and nephews. He had the most quiet, protective, loving way about him, coupled with a non-stop sense of humor, ...and has left all of us with a giant void in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Saddle River on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 4 PM with dinner to follow at the River Palm in Mahwah.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in the memory of Sam to , ww5.komen.org. To express your condolences you may visit
