Seymour passed away on August 16, 2013 at North Shore Hospital of Manhasset, New York surrounded by family at his bedside. He was bom in Paterson on May 17, 1923, the son of Max and Golda Korman.
Seymour graduated from Eastside High School in 1941 and worked in Wright Aeronautical for a short time before entering the United States Army
in 1942 at the age of 18. He served in the South Pacific in a general hospital on the island of New Caledonia.
Upon his return home in 1945, he enrolled in New York University
on the G.I. Bill and graduated cum laude in 3 1/2 years with a degree in Accounting. He earned his Certification for Public Accounting on the first try. He worked as a CPA for the accounting firm of Archie Marcus in Paterson and then for two years for Price-Waterhouse in Bogota, Colombia. After a stint with I.T.T., he accepted the position of Assistant Comptroller with the Queens Group, a lithography company in Long Island City, New York and retired in 1995.
For relaxation, Seymour loved to fish, play golf and was a whiz at solving crossword puzzles and sudoku. He was a loyal Giants fan from his early youth.
Seymour leaves behind his beloved wife Jean (Moskowitz). They resided in Elmhurst, New York and would have celebrated 47 years of marriage on October 30, 2013. He was a devoted and loving father of son Michael and wife Lisa of Chesterfield, New Jersey and daughter Jacqueline and husband Dr. Michael Eagan of Marlboro, New Jersey. He was the adoring grandfather of his cherished grandchildren Rebecca and Zachary Eagan and Mollie Korman. He is also survived by his loving sister Hazel Korman and brother Joseph Korman, wife Barbara and daughter Madlyn.
Services were held on August 18, 2013 at Parkside Memorial Chapels in Forest Hills, New York and interment was in Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York.
