Walter Boettger

BOETTGER
Walter, 83, of Dumont, passed away on January 2, 2013 at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothea (nee Perrotta), his devoted children; Linda Deardoff, Mary Ellen Mucciarone, Gregory, Christopher, Peter, and Michael Boettger. A great joy in Walter's life were his cherished grandchildren; Rebecca, Haley, Alicia, Alexandra, Heather, Lauren, Lisa, Dominic, Anthony, Paige, and Steven, Morgan, and Xenophon.
He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ruby Boettger, two children; Walter and William, and a brother Stephen Boettger.
Walter was originally from Fort Lee and settled in Dumont in 1954. He was a Navy veteran serving our country from 1946-1948 as a photographer. Walter retired as a lieutenant from the Dumont Police Dept. serving from 1959-1986. He was a faithful member of St. Mary's R. C. Church for 58 years, participating in Marriage Encounter and Cornerstone. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. John Council #1345. Walter had many interests—an avid camper, talented artist and wood craftsman, entrepreneur, cooking and baking, to name a few.
The Funeral Mass will be offered Monday, January 7, 2013, 10 AM, St. Mary's R.C. Church, Dumont. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. The family will welcome friends Sunday, January 6, 2013, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont.
