Wesley Pollard

Wesley Sr., of Chatham Borough, died on Sunday, September 16, 2012, at the Morristown Memorial Hospital , he was 90 years old. Mr. Pollard was born in Chatham Borough and was a life long resident. Mr. Pollard was a police officer for the Chatham Borough Police Department for 26 years before retiring as a Sergeant in 1977. After his retirement he worked for Shop Rite in Florham Park as a Security Officer. Mr. Pollard was also a courier for the Madison Eagle Newspaper retiring from there in 2010. He was a member of the Masons in Madison. Mr. Pollard was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Force 312th Fighter Squadron and his military unit received a Presidential Medal of Honor for their service in the Battle of the Bulge. He was honored by the French govenment for his service in liberating their country as one of the U.S. troops landing in Normandy. Wesley is pre-deceased by his brother, Leroy Pollard and is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie (nee Romano), his children, Wesley F. Jr. and his wife Clare, David W. and his wife Lynn and two grandchildren, Rebecca and Flynn. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation, Wednesday, September 19th, from 6-9 PM at the Madison Memorial Home 159 Main Street , Madison, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations to the Chatham Borough Volunteer Rescue Squad in his memory would be appreciated.
