William J. Crumley

RIDGEWOOD — William J. Crumley, 91, died on Oct. 29.

Born in New York City, son of the late Mary and William Crumley, he was raised in Queens and graduated from Flushing High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and then graduated from the University of Notre Dame. He worked as an FBI agent from 1951 to 1977 and for the New York State Racing and Wagering Board from 1978 to 1991. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie (Flaherty); his children, Martha Ciacciarelli and husband Joseph, William Crumley and wife Mimi, Patricia McIntyre and husband Robert, Jeanne Kastrava, Kathy Gaydos and husband Jeffrey and Susan Brennan and husband Gerald; and his grandchildren, Michael Ciacciarelli and wife Suzanne, Brian Cicciarelli, Kyle Kastrava, Kelsey Kastrava, Allison Gaydos, Kevin Brennan, Kerry Brennan, Matthew Gaydos and Tierney Brennan. He was predeceased by his daughter, Maureen Crumley.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave. in Ridgewood. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
