Walter Haase

Walter F., 81, of Teaneck on December 30, 2011. Born in Englewood, he grew up in North Bergen and graduated from Bordentown Military Academy in Bordentown, NJ, and the General Motors Institute in Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Haase retired as the proprietor of Haase Oldsmobile the second oldest Oldsmobile dealership in the USA. He was a director of GSL Savings Bank in Guttenberg, NJ. Walter served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion, Teaneck, NJ and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ridgefield Park. He was a member of Elks Lodge 1506 in Ridgefield Park, served as a past president of the Ridgefield Rotary and was a treasurer of the Good Olds Guys Radio and Television Media Group. Walter is survived by his wife Margaret (Cissy), two sons, W. Andrew of Bergenfield and his wife Christina, and Michael D. of Teaneck, a daughter, Julie A. of Ridgefield Park, three grandsons, William, Patrick and Kyle, two granddaughters, Megan and Alexa and a step-grandson Vince Duncan of Bergenfield, and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Walter T. and Elizabeth Koch Haase, two brothers, Donald and Alan, and is survived by a beloved sister, Evelyn C. Haase of North Bergen. Arrangements are being made by Petrik Funeral Home, 140 Palisade Avenue, Bogota, NJ. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the funeral home from 4 to 8 PM. The funeral service is Wednesday, January 4, at 10:30 AM at the Old Stone Church, 500 East Saddle River Road (at Old Stone Church Road) in Upper Saddle River. Interment at Maryrest Cemetery, Darlington, Mahwah Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Walter's name may be made to the Old Stone Church, 500 East Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458-1341, or St. Joseph's Indian School, Chamberlain SD 57326.
