William Arthur, of Mahwah, NJ, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, leaving behind what many would call the American Dream. Bill had a full life of prosperity, love and commitment. From the day he was born on July 2nd, 1930, in Paterson, NJ, until his death, Bill never failed to serve and help the community. After he attended Rutgers University, Bill served in the United States Marine Corp
. He was a devoted and proud military serviceman who always showed his honor for serving the nation. When he completed his military service, he married his loving wife, Doris Wolfkamp. The marriage he shared with Doris was rare, sharing unconditional love that only can be acquired through fifty-nine years of marriage. Bill was employed as a mechanical estimator with Herman H. Braun, Inc. for thirty-eight years, loving every minute of his job, and always relaying what he learned from his job to his children. After his retirement in 1992, he worked part-time for the Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery, being an avid gardener he dedicated his tender time to the deceased, caring for the greenery in the cemetery. Being an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Bill considered his church as an extended family. Bill took his duty for counting the collections to heart, and never failed to show up for his job. Over his forty years in Mahwah Township, he dedicated his time to many organizations, such as the Mahwah Board of Health and Mahwah Museum Society. To the day of his death, Bill continued to cheer on his team "Big Blue", always having hope for a fourth quarter turn around.
Bill left behind his beautiful wife of almost sixty years, Doris Conover, their three loving children son William S Conover and his wife Katie Conover of Bethesda, MD, daughter Virginia Conover Vill and her husband Peter Vill, of Colts Neck, NJ and daughter Kristen Conover Cody and her husband J.
