Howard Mark, age 76, a lifelong resident of Teaneck, NJ, died peacefully on Wednesday night, September 10, 2014 at Hackensack University Medical Center. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Silber) Kaplan for 51 happy years. Devoted father of Rachel D. Kaplan of Englewood, NJ, Deborah K. Falkow and her husband Howard of Ramsey, NJ, and Sarah Beth Kaplan and her husband Peter Bogdanow of Dallas, TX. Proud grandfather of Peter, Mitchell and Robin Falkow and Katie, Rebecca and Ella Bogdanow. Dear brother of the late Alan Kaplan. Dear brother-in-law of Susan Kaplan of Fort Lee, NJ and Jeff Silber of Bomoseen, VT. Howard was an attorney with offices in Teaneck for over 40 years and was a former New Jersey State Deputy Attorney General. Howard was a graduate of Teaneck High School, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor's Degree and was a graduate of Yale Law School where he earned his Juris Prudence Degree. Howard was a member of Temple Emeth in Teaneck and its choir and was a former member of the Board of Trustees, was a member of B'Nai Brith in Teaneck where he was awarded "Man of The Year" in 1979 and was a member of the New Jersey and Bergen County Bar Associations. Services will be 11 AM today at Temple Emeth, 1666 Windsor Road, Teaneck, NJ. Burial will follow at Beth El Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. The mourning period will be observed at the Kaplan Family residence in Teaneck through Tuesday evening.
