Philip Bolton Obituary
BOLTON
Philip S., age 54, of Allendale, NJ, formerly of Fair Lawn, NJ, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014. Beloved husband and best friend of Susan J. (nee Downey) Bolton for 27 years. Devoted and proud father of Gene Patrick Bolton. Very cherished son of Marilyn and the late Eugene M. Bolton of Fort Lee, formerly of Fair Lawn. Adored brother of Suzie Bell of River Vale, NJ. Dear nephew of Ilene Morris-Birkitt and her husband Steven of Fort Lee. Philip is also survived by many nieces and a nephew. Philip was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and was an accomplished pastry chef. "Phil had a passion and talent as an avid fly fisherman as well as his talent for music playing the guitar and keyboards." Services will be 2 PM today at Louis Suburban Chapel, 13-01 Broadway (Route 4 West), Fair Lawn, NJ. The Bolton family will receive their relatives and friends at the funeral chapel beginning at 1 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Philip S. Bolton can be made to East Jersey Chapter Trout Unlimited, P.O. Box 366, HoHoKus, NJ 07423 or Guardian Angel Soup Kitchen, 320 Franklin Turnpike, Allendale, NJ 07401.

My deepest condolences go out to Susan, Gene, Marilyn and Suzie. I was saddened by the news of Phil's passing. I worked with Phil's father and Uncle Lenny many years ago. I hope Phil finds the everlasting peace he searched his whole life. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Dear Susan and Gene my heart goes to you both. I worked with Phil,I loved him like a brother. We had many good times in the bakery, I will him alot. He was a great man and a wonderful friend. He loved you both very much.Phil was so proud of Gene and spoke of him often and always said Susan was his best friend. He would always put a smile on my face with a Hey Diane who loves you buddy and I would answer you do Philly and I would say Hey Philly who loves you buddy and he would answer I do Di. I am saddened to hear the news of Phil's passing. My brothers and I grew up down the street from Phil and Suzie. I remember his sense of humor and how many depended on it. I am sorry for your loss.(bb)

Dear Susan:
Phil and I were very close in high school. We both played keyboards and would imagine ourselves as nascent rock stars. I'll always remember Phil as a guy with a big heart and a warm smile. He will be missed.

How sad news travels fast. I grew up two houses away from the Boltons. Such fond memories of Phil and his sister Suzie. Our families were intertwines back to the 40's. Phil's father was an usher at my father's wedding in 1950. I was a frequent visitor to the house as a young kid - and when not there, one could hear the sound of Philip playing the organ emanating onto the street. Decades have passed and 1200 miles away; the memories flood back. My thoughts are with you all - Matt Gitkin

Deepest sympathy to Phil's family. I lost touch with Phil some time after he graduated Culinary school and always meant to reconnect. He was a wonderful person and friend. I'll never forget his Bar Mitzvah and the awesome culinary meal he made for friends and family after his graduation. Rest in peace Phil.
