He was a chess master, multiple linguist, a gifted photographer, lover of classical music, travel and good french wine. Beloved husband of Yvonne nee; Votier. Devoted father of Michel J. Friend and his wife Karyen and Wendy Whitaker and her husband John. Cherished grandfather of Brett, Cory, Carly and Jake. Loving brother of Irving Friend. Memorial Service Monday in the Frank A.
