Gerry Stamatelatos Obituary
Gerry Stamatelatos, age 75, born on March 20, 1938 in Kefalonia Greece, died on May 18, 2013. Gerry was a successful restaurateur, he was the sole proprietor of Louie's Charcoal Pit for the past 43 years. He was devoted to his family, a loving husband, father and grandfather. His loss will be felt by many who knew and loved him for his huge heart and his kind and generous soul. Gerry is survived by his wife Gloria Stamatelatos and family.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at Frank Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, Fort Lee, NJ from 4-8 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Wyckoff, NJ at 11:30 AM. For information (201) 944-0100 or frankpatti.com

Sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I had moved west 7 years ago. Spoke with Jerry several times and often thought of him. Thirty plus years of having breakfast with our little group of friends I will always treasure. I will remember all the favors he did for me.

Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to Gloria, Dino, Nikki, Anna and the entire Stamatelatos family. Gerry was a wonderful host and caring person, always trying to make certain that we were enjoying his delicious meals. He had "the best" Roumanian steak anywhere, bar none. We will miss you, Gerry, as we already miss having Louie's on Cedar Lane. Teaneck will never be the same...

I will never forget my father's happiness when he walked into Louie's Charcoal Pit a few months after moving to Bogota to find his long lost co-worker (Capitol Restaurant) and good friend sitting behind the register. May both Gerry's and Jimmy's Memory Be Eternal.

My family offers our deepest condolences to Gloria and her family on the loss of Gerry. Louie's Charcoal Pit will always be remembered due to the hard work and dedication of your family in making it “our family restaurant” for over 40 years.
My parents, Isabelle and Sol, will always have a seat for Gerry, but please, in the words of Sol, “no lemon”!

Gerry was a part of my entire life as my family went to Louie's regularly. I went all the time with my friends growing up at all hours - it was our place. I will never forget him, as I am sure many would agree. Condolences to the whole family.
