Anthony Charles, of Upper Saddle River, NJ passed away on March 6th, 2013. He was 85 years old, born in New York City on October 27, 1927 and was the son of Frances and Elia Cuomo. Brother of Dominic, Erminia, Catherine, Adeline and Elia. Anthony graduated Manhattan College with a BSEE and was a US Army Veteran. He was employed by Allen B. Dumont Laboratories which became a division of Fairchild Electronics. He left as Engineering Manager of the Instrument Division. Employed as Engineering Manager of Philips Broadcast Television Systems, he managed the development of Triax Cable Camera Control Technology in the late 60's. In 1992 the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognized him as a key employee when presenting Philips with an Emmy Award for outstanding scientific and technological engineering development for Triax Cable Camera Technology". He went on to found his company called Telemetrics in 1973 and continued with the development of camera control systems for another 40 years. These products can be found in major television studios, along with government, educational, corporate and sports facilities worldwide. Anthony was a resident of Upper Saddle River since 1962. He is survived by Clara Cuomo his spouse, daughter Mary Scillieri, son Anthony, grandsons Michael and William, granddaughter Leah Scillieri, daughter- in-law Suzanne and son-in-law Richard Scillieri. Also survived by his sister Adeline Cefola, sister-in-laws Catherine Cimillo and Lucille Cuomo, brother- in-laws Richard Cimillo and Richard Cefola along with nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-5 & 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10 AM at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Monsey, NY.
