PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Daniel Leroy Griffin, 88, of the Pompton Plains section of this community, who died on Thursday, November 22, 2012.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Griffin lived there before moving to Pompton Plains in 1965. He was a fireman for New York City Engine Company 220 before retiring in 1981. Also, he was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Services were Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Pompton Plains, followed by interment at the First Reformed Cemetery, Pompton Plains. Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Uniformed Firefighters Association Widows and Children's Fund, 204 East 23rd St., New York, NY 10010.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Lind; his sons, Dennis and Patrick; his daughters, Arlene Barbie, Janet Klutsarits, and Susan Winters; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Margaret; his sister, Evelyn Clark; and a granddaughter.
