To the Family of Dave Ostfeld,

I remember Dr. Ostfeld (Dave) when he taught our Inorganic course at Seton Hall University. We gave him the nickname of "Ernie" from My Three Sons.
He always smiled.

I remember going with Dr. Ostfeld and his wife to Franklin, New Jersey looking for minerals. I picked up a huge stone of Franklinite that I still have with me to this day. At that time his son was just a little guy learning to walk. He always smiled when he talked about his little son.

Dave's mission in this world was done and it was time for him to go home.

I will greatly miss my teacher and friend, Dave Ostfeld. God is looking after Dave.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to the entire family.

Dear Ostfeld family,
I am so, so sad to learn this news.
David and I were researching the Ostfeld family history for a good number of years. It sure won't be the same without his intelligence and wit. We got together in New York in 2006 after many emails and phone conversations. He was a totally lovely person.
My very deepest sympathies to all of you.

I send more sympathy to you kids. David was another edgebrook kid that always had the smarts to do whatever he wished. God bless from another edgebrook kid. Merritt Cook

Dear Dana, Kurt, and Mara,

I only learned of your father's passing yesterday. I am so sorry for your loss.

In June of last year we held our 50th Class Reunion of Carl Schurz High, and we shared the pleasure of David's wonderful sense of humor. He was very instrumental in helping us to locate our missing classmates.

He was a wonderful individual and will be missed by all who knew him.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
